I saw a comment a few days ago that said something along the lines of, “When you realize the Left’s reaction to the Wuhan Flu is religious rather than rational, everything makes a lot more sense.” Yep.
I’m a Protestant Christian. The pastor of every congregation where I’ve worshiped has always offered regular communion, usually several times a year. Catholics have communion more often, and I suspect some congregations never do.
For Christians who follow Jesus Christ and try to do what he says, communion is a symbol of our faith in Jesus. We eat the bread and we drink the wine to remember and honor our Savior, and because Jesus told us to.
And when the hour came, [Jesus] reclined at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. – Jesus Christ, Luke 22
Does communion save us? Umm … I personally don’t think so. Is the bread and wine transformed into the actual body and blood of Christ Jesus during the ceremony? Maybe. Whatever you think, the main reasons for communion are to honor Jesus, remember the sacrifice he made for us, and to proclaim to the world that we are his followers.
The Left today is full of religious zealots. They attack people who don’t share their beliefs. They have priests and orthodoxy and communion, too. Their Pope is Fauci. Their priests are The Experts (the ones the agree with, anyway). Their orthodoxy is whatever Fauci and the experts say.
Fauci says wear a mask, so the Left wears a mask. Fauci says get vaccine, so his followers get a vaccine. Fauci says two masks and two shots! The Left obeys. Their mask and their vaccine proclaim to the world who they follow. That is their communion.
But unlike Christian communion, which is spiritual and applies to the afterlife, the Left’s communion is very physical and is damaging society. The lockdowns have hurt and killed thousands of small businesses. Masks have made people meaner. Vaccines have literally killed people. The Left’s religion is about control in the here and now.
Good Friday and Easter Sunday is this weekend. I’ll be mourning the death and pain of Jesus Christ the Man and celebrating the resurrection and victory over death of Jesus Christ my Divine Savior. He will welcome you in, too. All you have to do is answer.
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. you are correct Trymian . I think the book of revelation and th eolivet discourse are playing out before our eyes. It is easy to see the ” vacine pasport becoming the mark of the beast. once it is instituted for vaccines , the precedent has been set that you must have it to travel or trade. It can then be linked to other things. your internet searches, financial transactions , the people you are near. etc . your cell phone would be your mark at first . then , since cellphones break ,they will say, just for your convenience you should get “chipped” in your right hand , or a small barcode tattooed on your forehead .
then if you are caught talking to “wrong” people , like a priest of pastor, you priveliges will be suspended . you bank account and credit cards locked. you car’s computer disabled, and any other number of bad things will happen. as a trad catholic, it is easy to see that the divisions i the church talked about are happening too. pray for us all . good luck , I am also a son of appalachia, but have been gone for a long time.

Our great forebearers would have said the same thing about a Social Security Card as what you just said about Vaccine Passports. Not saying you’re wrong about the Passport (i think you’re right), just saying how 2 or 3 generations ago the Men of the West would have been (rightly, and rhey most certainly did) speaking against SSC.
And how if we don’t stay vigilant then the next couple generations will be “used” to Vaccine Passports like I am “used” to SSC.
I don’t want to be “used” to either, as i believe free, soverign people don’t need to have Government ID’s at all!
