Have we gone mad?

The answer is yes:

PORTLAND — A transgender man in Oregon who gave birth to a baby boy* is sharing his pregnancy story on social media in the hopes of changing the stigma surrounding it…
An estimated 1.4 million adults in the U.S. identify as transgender, but the government has no documented numbers on transgender men who have given birth.

No men have given birth, because men do not give birth.  But millions of Americans are LARPing as members of the opposite sex, either through cross-dressing and pills, or by surgical mutilation.  And millions more loudly assert that what you pretend to be trumps your physical reality.  Maybe some of them even believe it.
Every day, ideas that would have seemed preposterous 5 years ago had anyone been crazy enough to think of them are presented to America as if they are self-evident, and America (and the whole West) falls silently in line. I expect that they are not going to stop. In fact, they are going to speed up.
What the hell is going on?
It’s easy to roll one’s eyes and joke that those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad. But it might be better to take it seriously. For even by other objective measurements, like increasing sales of drugs alleged to treat depression and psychosis, we are collectively going mad. Or, if I might be so bold: we are being driven there.
Romans 1:18-31 is one of the great indictments of humanity. Written of the Roman world, it’s so modern that it reads like the summary of a Hugo-nominated short story**. Unfortunately, Paul’s epic rant is too often leveled as a condemnation of gays as if he were only talking about them.  Well, he IS talking about them, but not in the way you might think.  Paul is not saying that homo stuff will bring the wrath of God down on your society. He’s saying that God’s wrath gives you homos everywhere.
Now, I’m not going to reprint it all here (it’s here), but I am going to hit the high points, because the cause and effect is something lots of people miss:

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened
— Rom 1:18, 21

Why is the wrath of God revealed? Because the existence and power of God are obvious to anyone who wants to know of them. But people didn’t care. They didn’t give God his due, they weren’t thankful. Even though they knew of God, they rejected him.
Now, that’s the interesting part, because that’s what America has done. Not in any one act, but in hundreds of acts going back decades, most personal, but the big ones corporate.  I for one cannot imagine a bigger spit in God’s face than our Grand Druid Council of Nine deciding that God’s design for marriage violates our national Constitution and must therefore go.
Next comes the scary part, because if you look around, it’s what you see:

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools…
Rom 1:22

God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves
Rom 1:24
… God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
–Rom 1:26-7

That’s mom on the left.

Biological sex – now dishonestly called ‘gender’ – is today a madhouse of confusion, with the only fact in the whole muddle – biological sex itself – purposely ignored. Those who are supposed to give us the facts call men “women” and women “men”, and we are all expected to nod and agree. They call a contract signed by two men “marriage,” and we are all expected to approve. They take our children on field trips to be read social justice propaganda by transvestites, and we are supposed to think it’s healthy. Too many of us do. We have become fools, indeed.
Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad.  If America has a spirit, the Spirit of Liberty has long since retired, and a spirit of suicidal sexual confusion has taken its place. And he was not brought on board for our good.
Now, I’m fully aware of the logical fallacy of Affirming the Consequent, that since we are being driven mad, God must be revealing His wrath. There might be some other reason that all of a sudden we have become so collectively beholden to lies and sexual confusion. On the other hand, if God has decided our smackdown cometh, I suspect that what we see in our culture is exactly what that would look like, at least to start. And so while the premise is not proven by affirming the consequent, it is certainly not foreclosed as a possibility.
If God is who He says He is and we are not who He says we should be, then I would say that His anger against what we are is obvious in what we are fast becoming.  Or as Billy Graham said decades ago, before the Genderfluid Crazy Train really got rolling: If God doesn’t judge America, He’s going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.
And I’m pretty sure God’s not going to apologize.
* Did CBS just assume the baby’s gender?  That’s a microaggression.
** and not just Space Raptor Butt Invasion.

  1. This is one of the hard things to swallow. The country is going to magically change one morning, and we all laugh at how silly we were. Are we at a Jonah moment, where the country can repent and the Lord forgive us? Or have we cast our own die, and now must weather the Wrath? Stay strong gentlemen.

  2. “…our smackdown cometh.” Indeed, I fear that is all that is left. As H.Hbilly said, our Nineveh moment is probably well past us.
Keep the correct order when & where we can, and pray.

  3. tried to give 5 stars but messed up. don’t know how to do it.
    excellent, clear explication.
always the word of God clears the air.
