  1. Although not as flawless, I still think these old stop-and-go animations look better than modern computer generated effects. I’d take that Titan scene over any modern Star Wars cartooney looking battle.

    • Agreed. I’m not certain whether it’s the technique itself or the high quality of all the other elements (acting, dialogue, music, editing, etc.) that makes the use of miniatures so convincing in this movie. Without believable characters and an engrossing story no amount of CGI wizardry will suffice to capture the viewer’s imagination.
