The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas has come again. It is our yearly reminder that even though the world is still a dangerous and uncertain place that God has not forgotten or forsaken us. I think I can speak for every human being who ever lived that if it was up to us, none of us would do what Jesus did. Even just the act of giving up His Heavenly position to come to Earth to be among us. Most of us wouldn’t go that far. I’m pretty sure that if it were up to me, I would have wiped humanity out and started over. But He didn’t. He began the greatest, most elaborate, most expensive rescue plan to ever exist. Then He called all His shots. And then He pulled it off.

How much comfort can we take knowing that Christ is on the Throne and He knows who we are and what we need?

It’s nice that we are going into 2025 with a resounding victory for President Trump. It’s wonderful that he seems to mean business with trying to clean up the mess that’s been made. But at the end of the day, the problems on earth are spiritual ones and Donald Trump isn’t capable of solving them.

When you go through the Bible and start looking at all the ways we here in the United States fail to live up to God’s standards it can be downright terrifying. When you consider that for 50 years Roe Vs Wade made it legal to kill innocent babies. We deserved God’s righteous Judgment. Even post Dobbs we still deserve it. But by His Grace He has given us another chance.

Because Christ Came, we are able to be saved. Without His incarnation, we would be lost in our sins. Because Christ Came, we can know how big the gap is between Him and us. Because Christ Came, we can be pulled from the swamp of sin. And Because Christ Came, we can act as His children on earth and try to make it more like the earth He created rather than the fallen cesspool our sin has made it.

This Christmas season, make sure to spend time with your families. Make sure that they know that you love them. Remember that Jesus came, He lived, He faced the same challenges you do, He was brutally executed, and then, HE ROSE FROM THE GRAVE, gave us a mandate, and ascended into Heaven with a promise to return. Remember who saved you from your sins. And going into 2025 let us resolve to honor Christ in what we do.

Merry Christmas.
