One of the most important things you can do for yourself, your family, and your friends and loved ones is to stop being fat and get in shape.

CNN recently published this article, “US obesity epidemic could undermine effectiveness of a Covid-19 vaccine.”

Scientists know that vaccines engineered to protect the public from influenza, hepatitis B, tetanus and rabies can be less effective in obese adults than in the general population, leaving them more vulnerable to infection and illness. There is little reason to believe, obesity researchers say, that Covid-19 vaccines will be any different.

“Will we have a Covid vaccine next year tailored to the obese? No way,” said Raz Shaikh, an associate professor of nutrition at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

“Will it still work in the obese? Our prediction is no.”

There you go. If you’re fat and waiting for a rona vaccine to protect you, you are probably screwed. Not only are you more likely to die from the rona because you’re fat, a vaccine isn’t going to help you either.

You would think that everyone would know by now that being fat is bad. Yet, millions of people look at their fat selves in the mirror every day and keep being fat. We all know that that fat kills, but a lot of people don’t care..

“People who have obesity, compared to those with a healthy weight, are at increased risk for many serious diseases and health conditions, including the following:

– All-causes of death (mortality)
– High blood pressure (hypertension)
– High LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, or high levels of triglycerides (Dyslipidemia)
– Type 2 diabetes
– Coronary heart disease
– Stroke
– Gallbladder disease
– Osteoarthritis (a breakdown of cartilage and bone within a joint)
– Sleep apnea and breathing problems
– Many types of cancers external icon
– Low quality of life
– Mental illness such as clinical depression, anxiety, and other mental disorders
– Body pain and difficulty with physical functioning”

I know, it’s easy to get fat. It’s easy to get take out. I love a good burger and fries. I enjoy a milkshake. And it’s not like society talks much about the importance of being healthy and strong. During the entire rona fiasco, I haven’t heard much discussion in the mainstream media about the importance of a healthy immune system. I haven’t seen many articles about Vitamin D (which is actually a hormone) and exercising and so on. There could be a reason the MSM doesn’t talk about health.

But it doesn’t matter why. If you’re fat and sick, you’re not going to do well in the coming decades. It’s time step up and do the hard things.

It’s time for some sacrifice. You have to stop eating all that sugar and processed food that you’re addicted to. If you don’t think you’re addicted to sugar, let me assure you that you most likely are. Well, if you’re fat, you’re probably addicted to sugar.

It’s time to build your strength. Hard times are coming and we need strong men, not fatsos who can’t run a mile. You have to want it. Then you have do it.

Start by getting a calorie app and counting your calories. Healthy men should be eating around 2,500 a day. You have to have an idea of how much you’re eating before you can get in shape. Buy some real food and cook a few meals from scratch. If you eat 2,500 calories a day and are still fat, maybe look at what you are eating.

Start doing some simple exercises such as push ups and squats. How many push ups can you do? Do that many a few times a day and do the same amount of squats. Then go for a 20 minute walk or jog. As you get stronger, add more reps and sets.

You can’t do a normal push up? Then start with lady push ups. You can’t walk very far? Take a camping stool and sit down when you need to. No one worth knowing is going to judge you for starting where you are. The important thing is to start. Start today.

When you’re healthy, you have more freedom. You can skip a meal if you need to. You don’t need medications for high blood pressure. Your immune system can work like God intended. You have stamina and mental clarity.

When you’re fat and sick, you’re a slave. You can’t go for short walk, much less a hike in the woods. If you stand up for too long, your knees hurt. You need a scooter to go grocery shopping. Normal colds can make you ill and sap your energy. You have to take meds, lots and lots of meds.

Fatness steals your life and brings dependence.

Health gives you liberty.

A country is as strong, really, as its citizens. I think that mental and physical health, mental and physical vigor go hand in hand. I hope that we will not find a day in the United States when all of us are spectators, except for a few who are out on the field. I hope all Americans will be on the field, that they will concern themselves with the education of their children, with the physical development of their children, with the participation in the vigorous life. And then also as their children get older, inculcate into them a desire to maintain that vigor through their normal life. Our citizens are living longer and we want them to participate fully in that longer life, but they can only do so if they give some of their time and some of their effort to maintaining that vitality.

  1. A really simple way to get started is to start intermittent fasting. Pick an easy one, say 16/8. This means that for sixteen hours, you do not. Half of those are spent sleeping, so you’re already half way there. For example, I allow myself to eat between the hours of 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM each day. I try to avoid snacking between meals, but I don’t bother counting calories.

Find an easy work out that you can do each day. I recommend getting a few kettle bells and following Pavel’s Simple & Sinister method. Once you learn the basics, you can do 5×10 kettle bell swings followed by 1×5 Turkish Get Ups (TGUs) with each side.
