Lets first get something out of the way: We at Men of the West do not accept money for reviews. If someone thinks enough of us to send us a product to test, you can bet we will give it an honest and fair review. That’s exactly what I’ve done here.
A while back, Luke from CraftHolsters.com contacted us and asked if we would like to test and review one of their holsters. I checked out their website and happily accepted. Luke offered to send me anything I wanted – and believe me – for a fella that carries a Steyr handgun for his EDC, that is an offer I couldn’t turn down. Quality leather for the Steyr M40-A1 isn’t easy to come by.
Luke asked some very specific questions about the firearm, and they made me a holster. It took a few weeks to arrive, but I remember being very impressed at how fast the holster it got here. I had thought it was going to be a couple months, and it was more like a few weeks.
First things first, the leather is excellent. This is a pretty holster, and the fit is also spot on. Its snug, but not too snug. Speaking of snug, the holster itself holds your weapon pretty close to your body. This is excellent for CCW, and printing is not an issue.
I have worn this holster all day, every day, for a week now. I’ve warn it driving, walking, running errands, and I’ve worn it while throwing around 50 pound bags of feed for the chickens and horses. It was hot and sweaty, but the holster didn’t care a bit… and never one time did I worry about the security of the firearm on my hip.
I highly recommend these holsters boys. The model I got was is called the Comfortable Leather Belt Holster. It has an aggressive angle, but that’s just fine by me. If you’re in the market, I’m not sure you can do a lot better for the money. And if you’re like me and you carry a Steyr… then this is a God send. You can see several options for a Steyr M-40 here, or search for whatever you carry.
And yeah, I can’t help but note that its a win-win. Its always great when a company that makes a great product reaches out to Men of the West.
